About us

In short: Kot w Butach is a Polish manufacturer of organic cat grass and cardboard cat scratchers based in Kielce, founded in 2018 by Paweł Staszewski. We sell wholesale only - more than 1,000 pet shops across Poland work with us. We do not sell to consumers.

Who we are

Kot w Butach is a Polish company that makes high-quality products for cats. Our mission is to supply natural and safe accessories that support the health and well-being of cats. Kot w Butach is Polish for Puss in Boots. On social media we also appear as Kocia Trawka.

Our story

The company was founded in Kielce in 2018 by Paweł Staszewski, who shares his home with the cats Lukrecja, Lisbeth and Stasiu Joker - the first testers of every batch of cat grass. We started with a single product: fresh cat grass from winter wheat, grown without chemicals or pesticides, sown every day and shipped to shops without warehousing. Over time we added cardboard cat scratchers, the Stasiu cat lounger, the Benio litter box with hay feeder for rabbits and the Walerianucha valerian cushion.

From the very beginning we have sold only to pet shops, pet store chains and wholesalers. Today more than 1,000 shops across Poland work with us, and orders leave our warehouse within 1-2 working days of receipt. Paweł Staszewski also writes guides (in Polish) about cat grass, hairballs and plants that are safe for cats.

What we offer

• Organic cat grass - a natural source of fibre and nutrients (currently supplied to customers in Poland)
• Cardboard cat scratchers - high-quality scratchers for claw care
• Cat furniture - stylish loungers and accessories
• Rabbit products - the "Benio" litter box with hay feeder, made of natural wood
• Cat toys - the Walerianucha cushion filled with dried valerian root
